I am absolutely delighted with my win on the China Rally which has secured me the Asia Pacific Rally Championship 2011 title. This is a great result for PROTON Motorsports, for all of the guys working on the programme back in the UK and everybody in Malaysia, we’re proud to have been part of an incredible season of success. On the rally itself, with everything clicked for us from the first stage.
It is a great end to a very hard season that has seen real progress with the MEM Proton Motorsports Team.
With the season now at an end, it's now time for a time with my family before the preparation starts for the 2012 season.
Thank you for all you kind support over the last year and I look forward to bringing some great results in 2012.

I'm writing this earlier than I'd hoped after an early exit from Dakar. As I know from 2009 the Dakar is the toughest event in the Motorsport Calendar but with the improvements to the McRae Enduro I believed there was a good possibility of getting the car into the top 20 and with a bit of luck the top 10. Pro Dakar have done a great job and the car is now quicker and far stronger than in 2009 but unfortunately there was an electronic glitch in the Engine Management we just couldn't get on top of, which eventually caused our retirement. I'd like to thank Chris and the ProDakar team for the huge effort they put in and I look forward to the opportunity to working with them again.
I'm now looking forward to a new season with Proton where we'll defend our APRC title and compete on three WRC events starting with the Swedish Rally in February. It's going to be exciting being back in the WRC and especially Sweden after my last event there in 2002. There's been a fair bit of development back in MEM with the car and I can't wait to test prior to the rally. It's going to be a busy year and we'll try and keep you up to speed with how it's going.
All the best for 2012
