Rally Indonesia Update
Oct 02, 2009
Finished recce out here in Indonesia. The temperature is extremely hot with slow twisty stages through sugar plantations. The first day is quite rough with a lot of loose rocks on the road which could cause an issue with punctures. The second day is smoother on a softer dirt and sandy surface.
We had a small test in the car and then shakedown yesterday. The car feels good but is maybe not so well suited to the twisty stages with a lot of square corners.
We changed some suspension settings to pick up some more traction on the sandier surface and have a good direction to go in for future development. We will need to cut the Silverstone tyres to a more open pattern for the rally and will develop this during the event.
It’s the first time for myself and the Proton S2000 car to compete here in Indonesia and we are looking forward to what will be a tough event for all competitors.
