Alister works in Corporate Market
Apr 20, 2005
With no entry in this year’s Production Car World Rally Championship (PWRC) Alister McRae has successfully completed his first Corporate Rally Day event as organiser and driver.

“I have worked hard with McRae Motorsport and RED to find a sponsor for this years PWRC and there were occasions when we thought a deal was in sight, sadly nothing has materialised.
I was talking with Graham Holmes whose company GHI sponsor the McRae Stages Rally and decided to organise a Corporate Day for GHI. This was a completely different challenge for me.
It was planned that I would use the Mk2 Escort which I have been building but due to problems with engine supply the car was not ready. RED came to the rescue and I used the Group N Subaru Impreza which I used in last year’s PWRC.
GHI who are based in Bellshill offer a full service from advice and consulting through to fitting out refurbishment and maintenance for all commercial and industrial properties. They invited fifteen key clients who were mainly from the banking community in Scotland. Each of them had a ride during the morning and afternoon in the passenger seat through the forest track in Beattock Forest. This unique experience was greatly enjoyed and their day was made even more special when an opportunity arose to give them a flight in my private helicopter.
Alister Miller was on hand and has produced a DVD of the day’s activities. Each guest will receive their own personal copy signed by myself.
It was good to be back behind the wheel again and from feedback on the day the GHI guests now have a much wider knowledge of what rallying is all about,” said Alister McRae.
