The Scottish Motorsport Show 2007
Feb 21, 2007
This weekend is geared up for one of the greatest motor sport shows in history. On the 24 – 25th of February, Scotland will be holding the first-ever Scottish Motor Sport Show and I’m proud to say, in my home town of Lanark. The show will play host to a number of exciting features and displays from both two and four-wheel disciplines on the grounds Lanark Agricultural Centre, including my very own Alister McRae Experience!

For the experience we have a 1.5 kilometre purpose-built stage which will run through parts of the centre grounds and surrounding forests, for several top drivers to battle and display their skills for excited fans. Adding to the excitement, lucky winners of Daily Record competitions will be given the chance to experience two laps of the circuit with one of the drivers in their machine of choice.
I’m pleased to announce that fellow Scots Robbie Head and last years JWRC rookie of the year Barry Clark will be taking part in the experience. As well, British and WRC production driver Mark Higgins will be present. Another Brit who put his hand up to be a part of this inaugural event is World Rally Championship driver Matthew Wilson of the Stobart VK M-Sport Ford rally team.
I am also thrilled to announce that my father, Jimmy and Brother Colin will be – with myself – jumping on-board as we tackle the Live Stage in MKII Ford Escorts. Wilson and Clark will be racing around in a new Ford Fiesta ST while Higgins and Head will hit the track in Grp N Subaru Imprezas.
I hope to see you all there! Tickets for the show are priced at £12 for adults, £10 for OAPs, whilst children under 12 will be able to go free when accompanied by an adult. Advance sales of tickets have started from the show’s website – and from the ticket line – 0871 424 4444.
