The World Champions turn out for Colin - McRae Stages Rally 2008

Five World Rally Champions, four British Champions, three American Champions and at least six Scottish Champions are all set to contest the Colin McRae Forest Stages Rally 2008, The final round of the Scottish Rally Championship.

Alister McRae has been named as the top seed in an Mk2 Escort. He will be followed by his father, Jimmy in his Porsche 911. At four is the first ever World Champion Bjorn Waldegard in a 911, then we have Mikkola with Nicky Grist sitting with him in a Mk2 Escort. Ari Vatanen and Dave Richards are next up in a Rothmans liveried Mk2 with Blomqvist seeded behind him in another Mk2. Malcolm Wilson, Travis Pastrana and Ken Block make up the rest of the top ten.

The total field comprises of over 140 cars and the rally takes place on Saturday September 27th and is based in Perth.

1. WAS AT THE RALLY. GREAT LINE UP AND GREAT DAY OUT. AFTER ALL THE YEARS OF WATCHING WRC MACHINERY I CAN EASILY SAY THAT WATCHING MK1'S, MK2'S AND 911'S GOING THROUGH A FOREST FAR EXCEEDS WRC CARS. ONCE AGAIN VERY MUCH WORTH THE EFFORT INVOLVED AND I'M SURE COLIN WOULD BE PROUD!! WELL DONE

2. What a great day, a great turnout of both competitors, cars and spectators, even the fire brigade made the effort :o)
